FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A stem cell is a cell that has the ability to duplicate itself endlessly and to become cells of virtually any organ and tissue of the body. Embryonic stem cells are cells extracted from the blastula, the very early embryo, that have an exceptional ability to duplicate in vitro, that is in a test tube, and to become cells of almost any tissue. Adult stem cells are cells found in an organism after birth. Until early 2000’s, it was believed that adult stem cells only had the ability of transforming into blood cells, bone and connective tissue. But research over the past 2 decades have revealed that adult stem cells have capabilities comparable to embryonic stem cells, being able to transform into cells of the tissue in which they migrate.
The Stem Cell System of Renewal describes the natural process of tissue renewal in the body, which ensures adequate tissue repair and health maintenance. Essentially, stem cells are naturally released by the bone marrow and travel via the bloodstream toward all organs and tissues to promote the body’s natural process of renewal. When an organ is subjected to a process that requires renewal, such as the natural aging process, this organ releases compounds that attract stem cells to this organ. As stem cells naturally circulate in the bloodstream, these compounds trigger their migration into the affected organ where they proliferate and differentiate into cells of this organ, supporting the natural process of renewal. There is a direct link between the number of circulating stem cells and the ability of the body to reach and maintain optimal health. Statistically, individuals who develop degenerative problems have on average less than half the number of stem cells found in healthy individuals.
STEMREGEN® is a blend of plant extracts that have been documented to support the release of stem cells from the bone marrow, thereby increasing the number of circulating stem cells, as well as the migration of stem cells into tissues.
Aphanizomenon flos-aquae: An extract from the cyanophyta Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA) was documented to trigger stem cell mobilization from the bone marrow and to improve cases of various degenerative diseases.
Hippophae rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn Berry – SBB): SBB is a Native to the Tibetan Plateau, Mongolia, Central Northern China and the overall Himalayan region. SBB is a concentrated source of several flavonoids and polyphenols documented to provide numerous beneficial effects. Recently an extract of sea buckthorn berry was documented to trigger bone marrow stem cell mobilization and increase the number of circulating stem cells.
Fucus Vesiculosusextract: A unique source of fucoidan & phlorotannins, namely phloroglucinol, which have beenassociated to a wide range in health benefits. Fucoidan has been documented to increase the number of circulating stem cells.
Panax Notoginseng extract: Concentrating notogensinosides that were documented to promote both stem cell proliferation in the bone marrow and stem cell mobilization from the bone marrow.
StemAloe: A unique extract of Aloe that was documented to increase the number of circulating stem cells.
b-Glucan: Complex carbohydrates documented to support various aspects of immune functions. b-Glucan was documented to protect and support the bone marrow, to trigger the mobilization of stem cells from the bone marrow and support the migration of stem cells out of the blood into tissues. STEMREGEN® uses a source of b-Glucan that contains >85% 1-3 glycosidic bonds, which is the most potent form of b-Glucan.
Transfer Factor: A blend of growth factors found in colostrum. Documented to stimulate and modulate the activity of various immune cells. Stem Cells being technically a lymphocytes – Transfer Factor in STEMREGEN® supports overall stem cell function.
STEMREGEN® is a blend of the most potent stem cell enhancers that have been scientifically documented. STEMREGEN® is estimated to increase the number of circulating stem cells by up to 100%.
Two capsules of STEMREGEN® contains the amount of active botanical extracts documented to support the release of stem cells from the bone marrow. The suggested intake is therefore 2 capsules once or twice a day.
No, STEMREGEN® will not deplete the bone marrow. The bone marrow constantly produces stem cells for the entire life of an individual.
A 60-100% increase in the number of circulating stem cells is well within physiological range and does not constitute stress on the bone marrow. The amount of active bone marrow amounts to about 2,600 g (5.7 lbs), with about 1.5 trillion marrow cells, of which roughly 150 million are stem cells. A 100% increase in the number of circulating stem cells corresponds to approximately 8-14 million cells, which is a small portion of the stem cells present in the bone marrow. Stem cells that do not reach any tissue return to the bone marrow.
Stem cells released from the bone marrow that do not reach a tissue simply home back to the bone marrow after a few hours.
Only embryonic stem cells have been associated with the development of aberrant growth. Stem cells present in specialized tissues such as the intestinal mucosa may also play a role in the development of aberrant growth. But stem cells released from the bone marrow have not been associated with tumor formation or growth.
The Stem Cell System of Renewal constitutes a new paradigm in health sciences. Likewise, STEMREGEN® is the most potent product in a novel category of revolutionary products called “stem cells enhancers”. STEMREGEN® is a product that supports stem cell functions in the body. Given the novel nature of both the concept and the product, a significant effort of education is required to help people become aware of this new technology. Therefore STEMREGEN® can be purchased through medical doctors, health professionals and STEMREGEN® offices.
Circulating stem cells can reach various organs and become cells of that organ, helping said organ regain and maintain optimal health. Recent studies have suggested that the number of circulating stem cells is a key factor in tissue repair and health maintenance; the higher the number of circulating stem cells the greater is the ability of the body at healing itself. A link has been clearly documented between health and the number of circulating stem cells; more stem cells in circulation means that more stem cells are available to participate to the process of tissue maintenance and repair.
STEMREGEN® can be taken with or without food, though some people at times experience some heaviness when taken on an empty stomach. The same experience has been reported when taken with an acidic juice like orange juice. Otherwise, STEMREGEN® can be taken with any fruit or vegetable juice, or with water.
Some people at times may also experience a feeling of energy that can affect the ability to sleep. In such case, make sure not to take STEMREGEN® after 4pm.
The best way to take STEMREGEN® is to take 2 capsules once or twice a day, in the morning or morning and evening.
No. FDA does not approve dietary supplements in the same way that FDA approves some drugs and medical devices. Nonetheless, FDA does regulate product quality, product safety, and product claims, and has authority to remove products from the market that are not safe or that make claims that are not substantiated by scientific evidence.
STEMREGEN® is 100% natural and non-genetically modified, made with ingredients that are either harvested wild or sustainably cultivated. Only the finest and most effective ingredients enter into the making of STEMREGEN®. Since many ingredients are harvested wild and cannot technically be certified Organic, STEMREGEN® is not certified Organic. But this does reflect any lesser quality, in fact, our motto is Go Beyond Organic, Go Wild!
STEMREGEN® does not contain any synthetic ingredients. Even the capsule is a vegetarian capsule made of plant-based cellulose.
STEMREGEN® itself is not patented, but ingredients in STEMREGEN® have been patented for their effect on stem cells.
Vitamins and other supplements like antioxidants and minerals play an important role in supporting the function of existing living cells. STEMREGEN® belongs to a novel class of products called “stem cell enhancers”, aimed at supporting the renewal process of the body by bringing new fresh cells to organs and tissues. While complementary, these products are very different in nature and have different mechanisms of action. Ingredients in STEMREGEN® have been patented for their effect on stem cells.
Intense physical activity has been documented to increase the number of circulating stem cells. Conversely, cigarette smoking and stress have been documented to suppress the role of stem cells in the body. This being said, when considering an oral product that can increase the number of circulating stem cells, STEMREGEN® is a blend of the main natural compounds that have been documented to support stem cell release from the bone marrow and stands today as the most potent stem cell enhancer available.
Many products carry such warnings out of an abundance of caution rather than any known pregnancy risk. We know of no evidence that consuming STEMREGEN® during pregnancy creates a health risk.
As with any dietary supplement it is recommended that if you are being treated by a health care practitioner or are taking medications of any kind that you consult with your practitioner prior to taking STEMREGEN®.
The issue pertains to the anticoagulant medications that are blockers of vitamin K, namely Coumadin™ or Warfarin. People on Warfarin are usually advised by their prescribing physician to pay attention to the amount of vitamin K in their diet. Like many green foods STEMREGEN® contains naturally occurring vitamin K. So, taking STEMREGEN® would be just like eating a food with vitamin K like broccoli or spinach. The Recommended Daily Allowance of vitamin K is 80 mcgs. Just let the physician know that 2 capsules of STEMREGEN® have approximately 12 mcgs of vitamin K, which is roughly 15% of the RDA of vitamin K. To give you an example of comparisons to other foods one cup of broccoli, raw, chopped has “about” 110% of the RDA (or 88 mcg) of vitamin K. A ½ cup of spinach, fresh, boiled has about 555% of the RDA (or 444 mcgs) of vitamin K.
Aside from its content in vitamin K, ingredients in STEMREGEN® have also been documented to have anticoagulant properties. Therefore, overall there is rarely an interaction with anticoagulant prescriptions, but it remains something important to share with your doctor.
As for medications other than anticoagulants, there are no known interactions or contraindications except for a possible theoretical interaction with anti-depressant medications. STEMREGEN® contains a naturally occurring nutrient known as PEA (phenylethylamine), also present in chocolate. PEA is naturally produced by the brain and known in the literature to support mood and mental energy. PEA is a natural compound made by the brain whenever one feels content and happy; it has been described as “the molecule of joy”. STEMREGEN® contains approximately 5 mg of PEA per dose of STEMREGEN®. Interactions with antidepressant medications have not been reported but it is a theoretical consideration and people should consult their healthcare practitioner. PEA has also been suggested to be contraindicated in cases of bipolar disorders, although no cases of negative interactions have been documented.
STEMREGEN® contains approximately 5 mg of phenylethylamine (PEA) per dose of STEMREGEN®. Although no cases have been reported, there is a possibility that it may be contraindicated in people with mania or bipolar disorder. STEMREGEN® supports the natural release of our stem cells. There is a theoretical possibility that it may be contraindicated in people having a disease of the bone marrow, although no negative interaction has so far been reported or documented. People should consult their health care practitioner prior to taking STEMREGEN®.
Yes, just follow the directions on the label and do so under adult supervision.
Yes. STEMREGEN® uses vegetarian capsules that are commonly used in the dietary supplement industry. They contain no gelatin or animal by-product of any kind. They are essentially made of cellulose, a polysaccharide fiber found in vegetables.
